◆ Household chores for couples

Sharing a home also means sharing the work of remembering it

Itzuna helps couples turn everyday agreements into clear responsibilities, visible rotations and shared progress.

A fairer balance begins when household work stops being invisible and neither person has to become the home’s permanent coordinator.

The work includes remembering the work

Sharing chores as a couple becomes difficult when one person not only does part of the work but also notices what is missing, plans it and reminds the other person. That invisible coordination takes time and attention too.

A fairer arrangement starts by moving responsibilities out of one person’s memory. A shared reference lets each partner check their commitments without waiting for instructions.

Make it visible

Include physical chores as well as the decisions and preparation behind them.

Share full ownership

The person who owns a chore also remembers it and carries it through.

Rotate repetition

Alternating some responsibilities stops them becoming one partner’s fixed role.

Review without blame

Look at the whole week and adjust whatever did not work.

How Itzuna can help couples

Itzuna turns each household chore into a mission with an owner, a time and a value. Progress is visible to both partners, and recurring tasks can follow rotations. That reduces the need to ask who is doing what or whether something is finished.

Points are not meant to measure anyone’s value. They are a configurable tool for recognising consistency, balancing effort and turning the end of the week into a small celebration chosen together.

A simple agreement to begin with

Choose five to eight recurring responsibilities that currently cause friction. Agree on what completion means, assign them or create turns, then set one short moment to review the outcome.

There is no need to turn every spontaneous gesture into a task. The system should reduce coordination rather than add bureaucracy. If a mission does not create clarity, simplify, pause or remove it.

Kitchen

Agree whether the mission includes cooking, tidying or both so expectations match.

Shopping

Separate making the list from doing the shop when the effort is shared.

Cleaning

Use realistic schedules and rotate the areas neither person enjoys.

Household admin

Include appointments, repairs and bills when they are part of the shared load.
